Upcoming Events at Capital University

Dr. Fan Zhang is performing in her first solo piano recital of 2017 at Capital University’s Huntington Recital Hall on February 12th, at 7PM. She will feature works by Haydn, Chopin, Albéniz, Granados, and Scriabin. Dr. Zhang has received many distinguished honors and attended Capital University as an undergraduate; after receiving her Master of Music from Indiana University, and Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Michigan, she has returned to Capital as a member of the Keyboard Faculty. All are welcome to enjoy this evening of beautiful and virtuosic piano repertoire, free to the public.

The MTNA Collegiate Chapter from the University of Michigan will visit Capital University on Saturday January 28th, at 4PM. Dr. Fan Zhang, a former D.M.A. alumnus from the University of Michigan and current Capital University Keyboard Faculty, as well as the MTNA Collegiate Chapter Supervisor, will host the event. Two topics of interest will be presented beginning with “Starting an MTNA Collegiate Chapter,” followed by a talk on “Popular Music in Functional Piano Skills.” The Capital University and University of Michigan MTNA Collegiate Chapter joint meeting will conclude with a short piano recital featuring works by Chopin, Beethoven, Scriabin, Bach, Schumann, and Liszt. All are welcome and encouraged to attend and enjoy, free of admission.
