I am writing today to invite your district members to join us for the 2024 Ohio University Piano Pedagogy Seminar which will take place on June 13-15 in Athens, Ohio. New this year is a special piano teacher retreat day on June 13th in which we’ll hike and share a meal together in the beautiful Hocking Hills of Southeast Ohio. There will be a special welcome reception with live jazz that evening. Our featured artist this year is the extraordinary Kate Liu, (Bronze Medal and Best Mazurka Prize at the 17th International Fryderyk Chopin Competition in Warsaw, Poland). We’ll also be featuring Noa Kageyama (author of the performance psychology blog The Bulletproof Musician with over 45,000 subscribers) and an outstanding line-up of guest clinicians. The cost is only $80 for teachers and $25 for students!
Inexpensive on-campus housing is available for $57/night. The Ohio University Inn and Conference Center has a special conference discounted rate but reservations must be made by May 13th. The full service hotel is short walk to the event venue which is the beautiful Walter Hall Rotunda.
