Scale Olympics Lead Sheet Harmonization Workshop
Friday, July 20, 2018
10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Grave’s Piano & Organ Company
Keyboard Room
Registration Deadline: July 13, 2018
This workshop is free to OMTA members.
You need to attend this hands-on workshop if:
• You are afraid of the Scale Olympics Lead Sheet Harmonization event
• You are not sure what all those accompaniment styles mean, or how to have your students play them
• You are having trouble finding lead sheet harmonization material to train your students to be Olympians
• You just need a ‘review’ of this event
Cynthia Adams and Liz Atkinson will walk you through this Scale Olympics event, with an emphasis on Levels 1-5. They will demonstrate how to play the accompaniment styles and explain how the judges score a performance.
Prior to the workshop, you will receive, via email, supplemental materials that will be used in the workshop; and that your students can use to practice and prepare for this event. Please print these materials and bring them to the workshop. We will not be able to provide them for you.
This workshop is NOT designed for teachers to learn the fundamentals of harmonization. It IS designed to help teachers succeed in programming this event for their students.
This year, we are asking for a minimum of 5 participants. Otherwise, the workshop will be cancelled. If there are a large number of registrations, then they are first come, first served as the space is limited.
To register, send an email by July 13 to Cynthia Adams: CAdamsPiano@icloud.com
