OFMC Invites You to Attend Workshops and Concerts Oct. 21-22

Ohio Federation of Music Clubs is holding its state convention on October 21st and 22nd. As part of the convention we are hosting a few workshops and concerts that may be of interest to members of CEOMTA. Kathleen Sadoff’s workshop on teaching piano technique will include her sharing the approach she uses when getting started with 5 year old students on Friday, October 21, from 2-3 p.m. at Linworth Road Church, 5400 Linworth Rd, Columbus, Ohio.

Duo-Pianists Sylvia Hong and Michael Rector will give a Piano Concert on Friday, October 21 at 8:00 p.m. at Linworth Road Church.

Dr. Eugenia Costa-Giomi will share her insights on how music instruction benefits cognition and health on Saturday, October 22, from 10-11 a.m. at Advent Lutheran Church, 3660 Kenny Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio.

Bridget Jankowski’s presentation will explore the practice of Body Mapping which is a foundation for technique, and focuses on the movements musicians use to create music on Saturday, October 22, from 11-12 a.m. at Advent Lutheran Church.

National president Deborah Freeman and state president Ron Marenchin will share the many scholarship and performance opportunities afforded to music students of all ages by the National Federation of Music Clubs and Ohio Federation of Music Clubs on Saturday, October 22, from 11-12 at Advent Lutheran Church.

The Snyder Family will present a Fall Concert on Saturday, October 22 at 1:00 p.m. at Advent Lutheran Church.
