Independent Music Teachers Forum (IMTF) is an informal gathering that meets twice per year to discuss current topics concerning independent teaching.
The first hour we will have a guided discussion about what has changed recently in our professional field. Feel free to bring a few thoughts and ideas.
Special emphasis will be given to the following topics:
• Over-committed students
• Current economic challenges
• Communication with students and parents since the pandemic
• Anxiety in the students
We’ll examine the 2020 MTNA Comprehensive Survey of over 3500 independent teachers.
We will allow time during the second hour to celebrate our successes as a district this fall! Pianorama and the State Conference will be among the biggest events to discuss, but chairmen of other events are also welcome to share their experiences.
These forums are for you! We hope you can join us for stimulating discussion and camaraderie. The range of teaching experience and collective wisdom is very inspiring!

Graves Competition – Volunteers Needed

There is still time to sign up to volunteer at this year’s CEOMTA/Graves Piano Competition, March 4 and 5 at Graves Piano and Organ Company. Teachers, parents, older students who want service hours for school, and community members who enjoy listening are all welcome!
The registration form can be found here to fill out until Wednesday
evening.  The schedule will be sent Wednesday night. Slots are only 2-3 hours long, and lunch is provided, either to share, or you can take it to go, as I know these few weeks are a busy time for central Ohio music teachers.
Hope to see you there!
