Out & About iPod Project

The stirring documentary “Alive Inside” (see link below) follows social worker Dan Cohen, founder of the nonprofit organization Music & Memory, as he demonstrates music’s ability to combat memory loss and restore a deep sense of self to those suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. Patients use iPods and enthusiastically listen to their favorite music from an earlier time in their lives.

As a gesture to the Forest Hills Center (75 long term patients), we are collecting iPods to present to the Center at our March 22nd Out & About recital. They currently have 6 iPods. Could you help in this cause by donating any used iPod, iPod shuffle, nano, or mp3 players you no longer want or need? Even the 1st generation is ok! Just drop them off in the marked box at Graves Music store before March 20.
