I am writing to advertise a vacant Graduate Teaching Assistant position in class piano at Marshall University, starting Fall 2018. The associated degree program is a master’s in piano performance. The Teaching Assistantship is a half position, i.e. 10 hours of work are expected each week (most likely two sections of class piano in our four-semester sequence). There will be a 50% tuition waiver, plus a stipend. In addition, I have endowed scholarship money that’s reserved for piano major students. For students who live too far for an on-campus audition: we accept recorded auditions (video). For international students: the TOEFL score required for graduate direct admission to Marshall University is 80.
