Teachers are nurturers and we have a tendency toward taking care of others first and neglecting ourselves. This leads to burnout, disorganization, poor health, and uninspired teaching. The goal of this unique conference is to help address the physical and emotional health of teachers and encourage and enable you to take better care of yourself. After the tumultuous year we all have endured, we look forward to hearing from local experts as they share physical and emotional techniques to calm our bodies and our minds as we strive to balance our work and our personal lives. The tools we learn will help us present our best selves and give us relevant strategies to guide our stressed out students as well. Our guest speakers will include fellow CEOMTA member, teacher and Musician Wellness Specialist, Lynn Singleton, and Carlos Bing, licensed professional counselor with Key Counseling and Consultation. CEOMTA is excited to have these professionals share with us this year!

Inspire the Desire to Learn with Jane K. Reed
What if your students would come into your studio eager to learn? Children are excited about learning when they are actively involved in the process. They engage when they believe learning is happening “through” them rather than “to” them. Join this session to discover refreshing and motivating teaching strategies that re-ignite learning through curiosity, inquiry and self-directed learning.
Jane K. Reed is an internationally recognized Suzuki Piano Teacher Trainer, Piano Educator and Motivational Speaker from Greenville, SC. After earning a degree in piano performance from the University of Findlay, she found her calling in Piano Pedagogy. As she teaches throughout the US and other countries, she dedicates herself to promoting finer education for students, teachers and parents through deeper thinking, validated learning skills and building meaningful relationships between the child, parent and teacher.
She and her husband founded Solutionary Insights, an educational business dedicated to Nurturing Thinking Minds. The unique signature of this business is the intertwining of the respect of the value of individuals, the belief that all are capable of excellence, and the resolve that fine and purposeful teaching and parenting develops outstanding abilities.
